my unexpected 10th international pre-christmas get-away
december 4-7, 2011 sunday to wednesday
finally, after 2 transit trips in hongkong international airport (HKIA), I experience to become a tourist on this most ideal destination when it comes to filipino international trip planning. last time i was in HKIA was 2005 for my taiwan work and october 2011 for my middle east job. in addition, i thought this tour will not gonna pursue due to changes in work location. i just reviewed and planned my itinerary on 3 days before my departure.

Hong Kong is one of two special administrative regions (SARs) of the People's Republic of China (PRC), the other being Macau. On 1 July 1997, the transfer of sovereignty from United Kingdom to the PRC occurred, officially ending 156 years of British colonial rule. Today, the former British colony is a major tourism destination for China's increasingly affluent mainland population. It is also an important hub in East Asia with global connections to many of the world's cities. It is a unique destination that has absorbed people and cultural influences from places as diverse as Vietnam and Vancouver and proudly proclaims itself to be Asia's World City.

Macau was a Portuguese colony and both the first and last European colony in China. Portuguese traders first settled in Macau in the 16th century and subsequently administered the region until the handover on 20 December 1999. The world's most densely populated country, Macau is best known as Asia's largest destination for gambling taking in even more revenue than Las Vegas. As the first and last European colony in Asia, Macau has more visible colonial history than Hong Kong. Walking through the old city you could convince yourself you were in Europe - if the streets were devoid of people and Chinese-language signage, that is.

booked again from cebu pacific's 1-peso base fare promo last december 23, 2011 before the price booms up this 2nd quarter of 2011 due to fuel surcharge. since i do not own any credit card from the beginning of my travel addictness, i paid this again through myBDO online payment. so far, this is the most cheapest roundtrip ticket purchased from that low-cost carrier seat sale, for only php969.92.
