Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park located within Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island. Construction of the theme park and the rest of the resort started on 19 April 2007. It is the second Universal Studios theme park to open in Asia (Japan being the first), and the first in Southeast Asia. The official plans for the park were unveiled to the public when Universal Studios Singapore released a park map to the public on 20 October 2009.Universal Studios Singapore has since attracted more than 2 million visitors in the 9 months from its opening. Universal Parks & Resorts markets the park as a "one-of-its-kind theme park in Asia" and promises that the park will be the only one of its kind in Southeast Asia for the next 30 years.

ride mrt bound to suntec city, alight to harborfront station, then went to vivo city. ticket counter is infront of the food republiq, level 3 of vivo city mall. paid 3sgd for train going to sentosa island. i availed a walk-in ticket which has also same price of 66sgd, i didn't book in advance because since today is thursday, off-peak and i have a 50-50 chances of going here due to budget allocation. at first, I planned for sight-seeing tour only for 5sgd but it is offered on fridays and saturdays only. reminder, don't forget to spend your 5sgd retail and food voucher. as for me, i bought it for refreshment and a souvenir figurine. Read uss map and started in hollywood which has a new attraction, musical play of the monsters. cool, it was a broadway act. afterwards, i saw the 2 rollercoaster intersecting each other, battlestar galactica. currently closed and may resume on 2011 1st quarter. actually, it has a public simulation of its  human and cyclone coasters.

Themed zone:
Hollywood - Themed after the real Hollywood Boulevard of the 1970s, the Hollywood zone is framed by dynamic architecture, palm trees and the famous Hollywood 'Walk of Fame'.
New York - Themed after post-modern New York City that features sidewalks and classic landmarks that mimic its impressive cityscape. The area is enhanced by neon lights and flanked by street facades that set the scenes for big city fun and also real-time movie production for most Hollywood blockbuster films.
Sci-Fi City - Themed after what cities and metropolis may look like in the future, equipped with space-age technologies and the ultimate modern conveniences.
Ancient Egypt - Themed after the rich Egyptian architecture and artifacts found during the Golden Age of Egyptian Exploration in the 1930s.
The Lost World - features two smaller themed regions: Jurassic Park and Waterworld.
Far Far Away - based on the kingdom of the same name featured in DreamWorks Animations' Shrek.
Madagascar - The Madagascar zone features a displaced cargo ship that houses the Madagascar: A Crate Adventure ride. It also features all of the characters from DreamWorks Animations' Madagascar.

universal studios singapore the mummy character

i highly recommend revenge of the mummy, an indoor extreme roller coaster signature ride of uss ... awesome sounds, effects and speeds, especially using pitch-black as an additional thrill and the sudden drop and fast of ride. even passenger seats are included in the effects. its colder inside and no queing lines. bags are deposited 1st in an electronic locker and is free for 30 minutes. i rode this for 2 times, on my 2nd attempt, its like i didn't experience it before, same intense and excitement.

on shrek 4d movie, another marvelous ride, comparable to 4d movie in siam ocean world of Bangkok. rapids adventure is a ride that makes you or your shirt 100% wet. awesome effects but i prefer much the rio grande rapids of enchanted kingdom.

my suggestions if you still want to have dry clothes after the ride;
(1) buy disposable plastic coat worth 2sgd
(2) locker is not free so you have to hug it on the duration of the ride inside the coat
(3) if you're wearing long pants, fold it up to almost knee level
(4) be attentive on your shoes when rapids comes because it will flood the raft for a period of time then drain again
(5) watch and observe the dino's, lots of traitor that spits water
(6) arrange your coat in such a way it will cover your entire body when you sit

other ride is for me is ordinary, for 66sgd is quite good. you can satisfy strolling the themepark in 4-5 hours especially if it is off-peak. in my case, i did less than 4 hours.
