My 3rd Ultramarathon (50KM) Solo Joiner; Pacific Coast Trail 2025

Filipino Ultra Trail Slow Runner Solo Joiner July 26-27, 2025 Gen Nakar, Quezon Province, Philippines

My 1st strained ankle after 1.5 years in the running era, happened in the 4th km of a 52km Trail Ultra. Lucky to finish within cut-off time and not as a last finisher.

Qualification: (1) Must be at least 18 years old on race day. (2) Must have completed a 42 Km or higher distance road or trail run. (3) Must be physically fit and in good health supported by a medical certificate with a clearly stated “fit to run” not later than six (6) months before the event.
Route difficulty: Easy route with low total elevation gain, good for beginners. Mostly flat with with off-road trail.
Remarks (My rating: 5 of 10 stars): (1) Re-scheduled event less than a month before the original date, poor planning (refund not allowed) (2) Route map for aid station not followed, only 3 of 5 were randomly placed (3) Recycled bibs were used from other race event (4) No photographers available (5) Finisher shirt/medal design is good (6) Direct route with gradual elevation increase. (7) Total elevation gain is very low for a 50km ultramarathon (excellent for beginners/slow runners)
If given the chance, do I like to join this race again? No (enough for the experience)
