Filipino Ultra Trail Slow Runner Solo Joiner July 26-27, 2025 Gen Nakar, Quezon Province, Philippines
This Fun Run served as my 6th mountain trail run and 3rd Ultramarathon as a Solo Joiner, following the Luneta to Tagaytay Ultramarathon (60KM) last Mar. 2025, My main objective is just to finish the race (beating my previous PR is optional), I want to enjoy the run at my own pace.
My 1st strained ankle after 1.5 years in the running era, happened in the 4th km of a 52km Trail Ultra. Lucky to finish within cut-off time and not as a last finisher.

Qualification: (1) Must be at least 18 years old on race day. (2) Must have completed a 42 Km or higher distance road or trail run. (3) Must be physically fit and in good health supported by a medical certificate with a clearly stated “fit to run” not later than six (6) months before the event.
Route difficulty: Easy route with low total elevation gain, good for beginners. Mostly flat with with off-road trail.
Remarks (My rating: 5 of 10 stars): (1) Re-scheduled event less than a month before the original date, poor planning (refund not accepted) (2) Route map for aid station not followed, only 3 of 5 were randomly placed (3) Recycled bibs were used from other race event (4) No photographers available (5) Finisher shirt/medal design is good (6) Direct route with gradual elevation increase. (7) Total elevation gain is very low for a 50km ultramarathon (excellent for beginners/slow runners)
If given the chance, do I like to join this race again? No (enough for the experience)

50KM 2025 PACIFIC COAST TRAIL ULTRA 3x Ultra Marathon Finisher Slow Runner 😁
The longest trail distance I did and my 6th trail run. Reached the finish line with return route and total altitude gain of 917m despite the ankle sprain (3x natapilok), minimal aid station and hot weather. 49 hours recovery time.
My will is strong but my knees were far too weak. Proud Slow Runner achievement.
