18 Days Budget Solo Backpacking in Winter New Zealand Jul. 15 to Aug. 03, 2023
Winter New Zealand Day 05:
Freezing solo major hike to Ben Lomond Saddle (1,346masl) with almost 1km altitude gain and 12km return trail distance. Strong wind, thick fog and underestimated winter attire made me decide not to push further to summit (1,748masl).
