Nature Waving Aurora Province 1st Part

a 2011 4th summer get-away specials
may 7-8, 2011 saturday to sunday

objective: to visit the best tourist spots that fits my budget at limited amount of time.
additional tasks: to experience my 1st ocean sports activity, surfing.

after beginning the 2011 summer blast to saranggani-lake sebu in mindanao, followed by the family get-away in la union, and then the most awesome northernmost province of batanes, another luzon escapade has planned. this time, its between my coworkers with their outside friends.

actually i was not part of original plan. its just so happen when one of my officemate mentioned that he was planning a get-away and thought out of nothing for this place. since in my mind i am planning also to go to baler but no definite sked, i grab the opportunity to ask if i could join them. and there it goes, i am now the head of the organizing committee next to him.

unique one-way road to aurora province (only 10-tons max allowed to pas)

the preparation;
i seek assistance in the provincial tourism of aurora by emailing them and ask for the possibilities for a budget accommodation and tour. they gave me this listing and at the end i concluded for the options offered by the pacific wave lodge located beachfront (which i always preferred when im into beachbumming stuff) of sabang beach. my group starts with a count of 5 and booms up to 9. we agreed to take the single big room packed us all for 1 night. i have no choice but to grab the offer since our schedule was the peak season for baler tourism. but it turns-out that this was a blessing in disguise knowing how many lodges and inns i have emailed and texted but no one dares to reply. there was someone recommended in an online forum but his offer was a package and cannot reach my alloted budget.

DAY ONE:
BALER CAPITAL TOUR

cast completed past 12 in the midnight in our assembly place 7-11, along mrt taft station. starex service arrived after 15 minutes of waiting and fetch us up infront of that store. we passed by bulacan, nueva ecija and nueva vizcaya, along the way our driver pointed out pantabangan dam. past 8am we arrived in pacific wave lodge, a newly built beachfront cheap accommodation along sabang beach in baler. while others wanted to take a nap, we took some breakfast tripping along the beach. seeing the sabang beach was the nicest surfing beach i've ever witness comparing to puraran beach of catanduanes and san juan beach of la union. i said that due to the waves were exciting and enticing to play with although you see far away that the ocean was calm. around 11am, lunch was ready and one of the delicious "paluto", local foods i've ever tasted. afterwards, baler tour was on the roll.

tromba marina

1. ermita hill park - there is a viewing deck overlooking sabang beach before you take the upnorth part. newly furbished 136 steps with some monkeys along the way. at the top you will see a huge white cross.
2. tromba marina - tsunami survivor sculpture. The survivors swam their way up the hill overlooking Point Baja, now known as Ermita Hill
3. cemento beach - i am not so sure about this place. based on my research this place had to be white sand with huge waves but when arrived there, we only saw a cemented port where a taiwanese boat was siezed and held
4. diguisit beach - near lukso-lukso islet. typical beach.
5. diguisit falls - small ordinary falls, source of potable water infront of diguisit beach.
6. lukso lukso islets - if low tide, one must hop on each every islet. we just overlook on this place from our van because there is an entrance fee of php20.
7. Dicasalarin Bay - owned by the angara's and located in san luis town, one of the best beaches here in aurora. awesome panoramic view along the road.
8. baler church - ordinary church that featured in local movie, walking distance to museum
9. museo de baler - great building structure located between aurora and quezon st.

  4. to all:
dicasalarin bay is located outside baler capital and is privately owned by the angara's. no public transpo and is guarded, hiring a tricycle or any vehicle is a must, but be warned of the steepness of the road. kindly ensure to your tour guide to include this on your itinerary, this is the last way before lukso-lukso islet and diguisit beach

@a.k.a. thobs; depende po kasi private property nga yun, thus, may guard on duty. kasi yung van na na-hire ko taga-dun din so kilala, ewan ko lang po kung kaya ng tricycle yung daan o payagan sya pumasok if kinaya. intentional ang pag-hire nung van because of that reason din po...
