Route for a land trip coming from caticlan(aklan) to cubao(ncr):
Aklan - Oriental Mindoro - Batangas port - Cubao
1. ferry from caticlan jetty port to roxas port - approx. 5 hours
2. bus from roxas port to calapan port - approx. 5 hours
3. ferry from calapan port to batangas pier - approx. 3 hours
4. bus from batangas port to cubao terminal - approx. 3 hours
ESTIMATED TOTAL TRAVEL TIME: 16 hours
During December 26, 2011, I found out that the earliest ferry trip to Roxas port from Caticlan is 1000H that costs php391 excluding terminal fee while the aircon bus bound straight to Cubao departs at 1400H at php950 all included. Comparing this two options, 4 hours is a big difference and highly important when going home. Thus, I chose to go to ferry ride and do it again via a real commute basis.
Here's what happened after I went home via manual transfer trips from ferry to van, to ferry to bus, from Caticlan to Cubao.
Route for a land trip coming from caticlan to cubao (Dec. 26, 2011):
1. ferry from caticlan jetty port to roxas port (RO-RO) - 1000H - 1430H (4.5 hrs)
2. aircon van from roxas port to calapan port - 1430H - 1700H (2.5 hrs)
3. ferry from calapan port to batangas pier (supercat) - 1700H - 1830H (1.5 hrs)
4. aircon bus from batangas port to cubao terminal - 1830H - 2100H (2.5 hrs)
ESTIMATED TOTAL TRAVEL TIME: 11 hours for php1,088
(obviously after holiday effect, no more huge crowd)
3. be warned by the waves from caticlan to roxas as I experienced the WORST ferry ride I ever had, vomited for 6 times. I am expecting to go to nearest hospital because of the high sea and motion sickness I felt that time. This must be my last RO-RO to ride on a long travel duration (4.5 hrs)
