5 Days Pandemic Rainy Solo Trip in Guyana

93 Days Pandemic Rainy Solo Trip in South America
May 04, 2021 to May 08, 2021

My 127th country visited on my journey beyond #lakbay100, 93rd solo backpacking trip, 10th country in South America and of course, usual budget do-it-yourself itinerary from arrival to departure. Guyana served also as the 14th country on my 2020-2021 America Pandemic Adventures Filipino Solo Trip, the new normal of traveling.

Guyana is a country in north-eastern South America. It has an Atlantic Ocean coastline in the northeast, and lies between Suriname to the east and Venezuela to the west, with Brazil to the south. It is now the third-smallest country in South America after Suriname and Uruguay. The name Guyana (from Arawak Wayana) means "Land of many waters." It is related to the name Uruguay: River of the colorful birds, another country in South America.

GUYANA SOLO TRAVEL TIPS DURING PANDEMIC:

Airport Immigration Issues: I'm the only tourist arrived from Miami. Filled out visa application form, show my confirm hotel booking, fly-out ticket and paid exact 25 USD cash. I Ieft the Immigration Desk as soon as I had the whole page visa stamp (not sticker).

Places Visited: Georgetown, Kaieteur Falls

1. In my opinion, Guyana has around 50%, feels like Belize because; (1) locals look-alike, (2) English as main language and (3) Expensive cost of tourist living (hostel, food and basic items).

2. Kaieteur Falls day trip is mostly available only during weekends (Fri to Sun) and costs 215 USD (excluding transport service from/to Ogle Airport). I took my trip via 592 Tours with Mr. Malcolm whatsapp +592-6627580. You should be seated on the right side of the plane (two-seater) for awesome waterfalls aerial view.

3. On airport arrival, Guyana requires Negative PCR Test within 72 hours validity.

4. On airport departure, my next destination United States requires only Negative Covid19 Test (Antigen) within 3 days validity. Dr. Balwant Singh's Hospital provides Covid19 Antigen Test for $8,000 (40 USD) with 2 hours result (physical passport is always required as identification).
