Lumbini last part; Biking the Other Country's Temple

visiting the Lord Buddha's birthplace, a sacred place for Buddhist
December 21 to 23, 2015

I hired a bicycle the whole day of my trip inside Lumbini Village for 350 NPR rental fee. Lumbini Sacred Garden is ideal to visit in the morning as there is less tourists compared to afternoon. After I visited Lumbini Sacred Garden which I entered from Gate 5, I started to roam the Lumbini Village from Gate 4 of East Monastic Zone. In East Monastic Zone, countries to be found are Sri Lanka, Myanmar, India and Thailand. On the Western Monastic Zone, countries to be seen are Nepal, France, Germany, Japan, Vietnam, Austria, China and Korea. On the far end side, exact opposite of the Sacred Garden, is the World Peace Pagoda donated by Japan.

Lumbini World Peace Pagoda has been built through contribution of devotees in Nepal and Japan. The construction of the Peace Pagoda all over the world after feeling the tragic scene of atomic bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki of Japan at the end of World War II. The Peace Pagoda is erected according to the teaching of the Lotus Sutra to disseminate love and peace and to create the pure land of the earth. Lord Buddha's relics have been enshrined on the foundation stone at the top of the Peace Pagoda.
