Christmas day Stroll in Bhaktapur

feeling the Christmas season in Nepal's best preserve palace courtyard
December 25, 2015

I started to stroll Bhaktapur on the side Suryamadhi, where the ordinary bus from Kathmandu performed its last stop. I pass through Duttatraya, Golmadhi, Sukuldhoka, Taumadhi and the famous Durbar Square. During my visit most of the heritage sites damaged by the April 2015 Earthquake was residential houses and in Durbar Square.

Bhaktapur has the best preserved palace courtyards and old city center in Nepal, and is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its rich culture, temples, and wood, metal and stone artworks. Bhaktapur, literally translates to "Place of devotees'', is an ancient Newar city in the east corner of the Kathmandu Valley.
