Navigating Disney Resort

7-days wandering solo in summer Japan
may 28 - june 04, 2013 tuesday to tuesday

Mijuyima Island morning stroll

My initial plan was to visit the famous and most recommended theme park in Japan which is Disneysea but what happened during this day was I arrived late in Disney Resort due to underestimated time allocation (I went first to my booked dormitory hostel which was not according to plan) and strong wind occurred. In addition, I may not enjoy it as as per my research the entire concept of Disneysea is mostly for kids only. Nevertheless, just for the fact that I was here, I still continue to stroll around by walk only. Having a picture of Disneyland Tokyo as background was one of the most enviable scene I had during my childhood years. Regardless how much crowd was passing on this overpass, I still did my usual photo-ops. By the way, I navigated Disney Resort by foot only which is more relaxing and just only meters away, not much to be tired of. Disney Resort can be found at JR Maihama Station.

Tokyo Disney Resort in Chiba, Japan (not in Tokyo city), was the first Disney theme park resort to open outside of the United States. It is by far the third most annually-visited theme park complex in the world, behind Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. It is noteworthy that it is not owned by Disney but by the Oriental Land Co., Ltd.

Tokyo Disney Resort consists of two theme parks. Tokyo Disneyland, a "Magic Kingdom" park just like all the others, was the first Disney theme park to be built on non-U.S. territory. The park opened in April 1983 and was an instant success. Tokyo Disneyland's sister park Tokyo DisneySea, which opened in September 2001, is an ocean-themed park exclusive to Japan. With over 14.45 million visits in 2010, Tokyo Disneyland is the third most visited theme park in the world behind Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom and the original Disneyland; DisneySea follows in fourth place with 12.66 million visits. Ticket prices for 1-day pass is Adult (18+) ¥6,200 and junior (12-17) is ¥5,300
