Best Places to Stay in Vegas for the Budget Traveler

Las Vegas is known for its glitz, glamour, and gambling.  When heading to Vegas, many believe that you need to have deep pockets to afford a nice place to stay but in reality there are several options for tourist that won't break the bank.  Here are a couple of the best places to stay in Las Vegas for those on a budget.

Four Queens

The Four Queens in downtown Las Vegas is one of the older casinos in the city but is also a solid option for those wanting to save some money on travel.  The hotel was renovated a few years ago and serves as a solid mid-grade option for travelers.

Amenities in rooms include large pillowtop beds, large flat screen Televisions, and some of the most affordable room service in Vegas.  Rates for this hotel during the week average around the $30 mark with weekend rates right around $49 to $69 depending on the time of year.

The Orleans

The Orleans is probably the most robust non-strip casino in Las Vegas.  Located on Tropicana Ave, the casino has just about everything you could want out of a casino and more.  In addition to the normal casino gaming, you have a bowling alley, movie theater, kids arcade, as well as several restaurants and fast food establishments including TGIFridays and Subway.

As you know, Las Vegas is also the home for several poker tournaments and the Orleans has a full poker room with daily poker events.  Each summer they host the Orleans Poker Open, one of the longest running poker events in Las Vegas outside of the World Series of Poker.

The hotels is also well equipped and is secured access only, meaning that a security guard checks every hotel guest for a key.  Rooms are very spacious and have most amenities you would expect.  This hotel ranges in the $49 range during the week and up to around $129 on average on the weekend.

One of the great things about the two options presented above is that they are well maintained properties that are inexpensive in price only.  In addition, during the off-season you may be able to find even cheaper rates than those mentioned above.
