Sidon (Saida) Quick Tripping

may 18-19, 2012 friday to sunday


how to go here:
from beirut city preferably in daora, ride any van or a bus and ask driver to drop-off to hesua almanak. Travel time is around 30 minutes, with stop-overs and fare costs 1,500 lbp(bus) / 2,000 lbp (van). Drop-off area is fly-over bridge from left going to the right. Walk upwards and wait for a taxi (no public vehicle available). Negotiate taxi fare going to jeita grotto at maximum of 10,000 lbp ($6.67), travel time of around 20 minutes.

Due to not making the visit on yesterday's trip to jeita grotto, my time to spend on this place was as quick as to tripoli. fortunately somehow, this place has not much to offer. After almost 30 minutes, I went back to terminal going back to beirut city.

Sidon (Saïdai, present arabic name) the third-largest city in Lebanon. It is located in the South Governorate of Lebanon, on the Mediterranean coast, about 40 km (25 mi) north of Tyre and 40 km (25 mi) south of the capital Beirut. In Genesis, Sidon is the son of Canaan the grandson of Noah. Its name coincides with the modern Arabic word for fishery.
