Folding Bike Cycling is my newly discovered hobby in the UAE's capital. This is an alternative / replacement for my itchy feet on my quest to fulfill my beyond #lakbay100 journey for other countries which I did not visited yet. As what a usual traveler quote, there is no place like home. Abu Dhabi City is my home for more than three years and surprisingly, biking gave me a one-of-a-kind perspective on the amazing views of this city. Thank you Abu Dhabi :)
My biking adventure starting point is on my home building along Hamdan Street. The best way to do this journey is through Corniche area or Hamdan Street first, then to Al Zahiyah, Sheik Khalifa Bridge, New York University, Saadiyat Beach Club, Cultural District (Manarat Al Saadiyat, Louvre Abu Dhabi) and go back to Hamdan Street. Ideally to bike during nights and early morning as the scorching heat of the sun attacks as early as 0900H.
Route Flow : Al Zahiyah - Sheik Kalifa Bridge - Saadiyat Beach - Cultural District (Louvre)
Route distance : more than 30 kilometers (start / end in Hamdan Street)
Route description : amazing views along Sheik Kalifa Bridge and E12 Road
Cycling tracks : almost none, along the road outermost lane
Best time to bike : early morning and afternoon until evening (weekend preferably)
