  1. Hi, sorry I have a few questions as I want to go there and thinking of doing a layover on the way to Solomon Islands that will give me a day to see Port Moresby. There is very little info especially for day visits to Port Moresby without a guide that will cost an arm and a leg.

How did you get taxi to your hotel and was the hotel expensive?
Was it scary, did you bump into any raskals?
Anyone try to mug you/demand your money?
Did you see around the shanty areas?
How was getting to fisherman island, were the costs reasonable? Easy to find the boat people?
How did you manage to make contacts to find the hotel?
Was there any foreigners at the airport when you arrived?

    1. Please note my response below in details...

How did you get taxi to your hotel and was the hotel expensive?
      - please read my itinerary above, it's a free pick-up from hotel, hotel accommodation is affordable

Was it scary, did you bump into any raskals?
      - no, locals are nice like other locals in the World.

Anyone try to mug you/demand your money?
      - no, don't think bad to locals. Just act and be nice.

Did you see around the shanty areas?
      - yes, alone by myself.

How was getting to fisherman island, were the costs reasonable? Easy to find the boat people?
      - please read my itinerary above. I just went to Koi Fish barker and go along with the locals on boat transportation on local fare.

How did you manage to make contacts to find the hotel?
      - no contacts, just usual hotel booking

Was there any foreigners at the airport when you arrived?
      - yes, but I don't bother.

You ask like you're paranoid. Chill. Enjoy adventure travel.
      You're welcome.
