Mdina, Malta's old capital city, is characterized by medieval as well as baroque architecture. Mdina Cathedral dominates the main square and characterizes the town with its unique skyline. Valletta, Malta's capital city, is adorned with beautiful baroque buildings and churches. Valletta is fortified peninsula overlooking Marsamxett Harbour and the Grand Harbour on either side.
