lebanon trip main page

how to go here:
from charles helou international bus station in beirut city, ride a tripoli express aircon bus for only 3,500 lbp ($2.33). travel time is around 1 hour with no stop-over to happen. the road is on the coastal side so sightseeing the mediterranean sea is inevitable. terminal is in downtown area in tripoli.

I did not spent so much time here due I was late already for the itinerary for the day and I think the prospect ruins to visit here is maybe almost seen to other sites. I just bought chicken shawarma (4,000 lbp) and a soda drink (1,000 lbp) while waiting for bus to depart.

Situated 85 km north of the capital Beirut, Tripoli is the capital of the North Governorate and the Tripoli District. Geographically located on the east of the Mediterranean, the city's history dates back to the 14th century BC. Tripoli is home to the easternmost port in Lebanon, and holds offshore a remarkable string of four small islands, the only surviving islands of Lebanon. The largest of these islands, the Island of Palm Trees, has been declared a protected reserve by UNESCO in 1992 for its rich ecosystem of green sea turtles and rare birds.
