to visit the best tourist spot that fits to my budget at limited amount of time.
additional tasks: to have  night shot in the ruins and taste best chicken inasal.

important note (negros occidental):
Negros Occidental (Filipino: Kanlurang Negros) is a province of the Philippines located in the Western Visayas region. Its capital is Bacolod City and it occupies the northwestern half of Negros Island; Negros Oriental is at the southeastern half. Across the Panay Gulf and the Guimaras Strait to the northwest is the island-province of Guimaras and the province of Iloilo on Panay island. Known as the "Sugarbowl of the Philippines", Negros Occidental produces more than half the nation's

1st falls

bakasyonista has once again luckily availed an airphil express promo worth php214 for roundtrip ticket during the travelmart held last september 2010 in sm megamall. upon arrival to the new bacolod-silay airport, we rode a public ipv van bound to our preferred hotel (php35), the circle hotel located within the heart of bacolod city. check-in 1st then have our breakfast in downtown. after that, touring starts on.

i divided this wonderful journey into different set of posts to be more specific on its content;

day 1: negros occidental 7-falls trekking
day 1: negros occidental life at night
day 2: negros occidental tour and inasal

the trail of mambukal falls

2nd falls of mambukal

mambukal resort (tourist spot)
- located in murcia town
- from bacolod downtown bus terminal, ride an ordinary bus bound to brgy. mambucal with an average travel time of almost an hour (php35 fare)
- opens daily from 8am to 8pm.
- with entrance fee of php30.
- a resort with sulphur spring, natural water swimming pool and cheap accommodations.
- since the trail going to 7-falls is prone to landslide, there are registered guides on foot upon registration. there guide rate depends on how much you van give. as for us, my group gave php300 for group of 5 (they went only to 7th fall via habal-habal @ php100), while myself trail from 1st to 7th falls back and forth with a 13-yr old unregistered guide. i gave him php100 since he force me to be tag along.

6th falls of mambukal

 - with 7-falls to explore and actually 6 of this where part of mambukal area and the last one is on the foot of mt. kanlaon.
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th falls are the navigable ones while 4th and 5th were just look from afar due the trail was destroyed by the landslide cause by typhoons.
- you can reach all falls by an average of over an hour. one of the most steepest trail i have ever trekked. so be prepare to get tired. don't worry, there are some refreshments sold on 6th and 7th falls nearby. as for me, i only took the trekking for about 30 mins going up and 20 mins going down.
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd are off-limits for swimming area, only 6th and 7th falls.
- top four best falls are (in particular order).... 1st, 3rd, 2nd and 7th falls were the 1st falls the best. its for you to find-out if this are indeed the right ones.

7th fall (mt. kanlaon foot)

we also spent our lunch at the foot of this resort were food court serves best chicken inasal and other typical filipino food that negros occidental can offer at a very cheaper price.
