Into the Monastery of 10,000 Buddha's

4-days winter budget family tour in Hongkong-Macau
saturday to wednesday february 02-06, 2013

how to go here;
Sha Tin subway station (aqua line) then walk outside around 500 meters away. No admission fee. This is a temple/monastery so doing a picnic is prohibited.

Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery is a Buddhist temple in Sha Tin, Hong Kong. It is located at 220 Pai Tau Village, Sha Tin. It is not an actual monastery as there are no resident monks and is managed by laypersons. It was built by Yuet Kai, a devout Buddhist layman who dedicated the last years of his life to constructing an elaborate temple containing nearly 13,000 statues of Buddha.

Regarding hostel, I extremely not recommend, enormously warn and totally discourage everyone to book on USA Hostel Hongkong branch especially when credit card is to be used for online transaction as they will charged an awfully, terribly, and unfair rate hostel fees automatically without your consent. I have booked and confirmed my reservation week before but during the travel dates I just found out that they charged a lot, that was why I immediately emailed them in between those dates. Unfortunately, as per their rules once the customer confirmed his/her booking they will automatically, inconsiderably, unlawfully deduct entire duration rate with 10% service and credit card charge without prior notification on the owner. I have emailed them several times, asking also to communicate with the manager but a staff named Elaine was replying on a very delayed manner. She even had the nerve to hope I will book to them again.

There are lots of cheap, very competitive and exactly the same services offered by this hostel in Mirador Mansion and Chungking Mansion along Tsim Tsa Tsui area. It is not actually required in Hongkong immigration that you have a pre-booked hostel so you can go there on arrival booking to make sure you will have a safe savings account and credit card.

Learn from this post if you don't want to have same experience as mine...
What goes around comes around, bad karma for sure will come to them...
