Palawan's Calamian Group of Islands

stunning waterscapes of northern palawan
july 15-18, 2011 friday to monday

objective: to visit the best tourist spots that fits my taste and budget accordingly.
additional task: to find-out why most of the filipino speaks about coron's lagoons, lakes and beaches

important note (calamian islands):
The Calamian is a group of islands in the Philippine province of Palawan. It includes:
- Busuanga island
- Coron island
- Culion island
- calauit island
- several minor islands
The world's best kept diving secret, those sunken WWII Japanese shipwrecks also lies silently within its waters as a witness to a gruesome past, most of which are within divable depths.

the planning:
busuanga roundtrip tickets were availed via airphil's promo fare. group originally consists of 6 travelmates and i was not belong to them due i was late notified of the seat sale. since i have not visited yet this place, i've waited for another seat sale to commence. fortunately it arrived and so it goes, my adventure for coron island hopping was set.

my last domestic trip via plane was on may 2011 in bacolod. though its just over 1 month, excitement to aboard was still like a 1st time in comparison to typical land travels. an almost 4 days journey has packed my bag with 4 shirts, 2 sando, 2 board shorts, snacks and a budgeted money enough to enjoy the days. i was not an avid fan of laidback wandering so i have to prepare for a well-projected itinerary because coron is known also for its expensive accommodation for tours, boats and island entrance fees.

1 week before, final travelmates consists of 2 guys and gals (3 back-outs, an unfortunate but anticipated event in organizing leisure travels). i was the only one who has different ETA and ETD to busuanga while the rest have similar timings. the group leader (not me), designed the itinerary on, of course, a budget do-it-yourself patterned to the packages offered. we draft it to islands hopping going to calauit island, then the typical coron loop tour.

i was also planning for a possible coron-el nido tour. but since ferry's are only available every 0700H daily with travel time of 8 hours that costs php2,200 for tourists on one way (php1,500 for palawan locals), budget constrain is another major problem. one local i've ask was i can do this also via puerto princesa via land trip.

no package tour availed on any journey we made. all we just did was hiring a small boat for coron island loop tour and big boat against the south china sea for calamian islands tripping.

anyways, i divided this wonderful journey into different set of posts to be more specific on its content;
