Batad - Sagada Week-End Trekkings

my 7th consecutive get-away
june 17-20, 2011 friday to monday

objective: to visit the best tourist spots that fits my taste and budget accordingly.
additional tasks: to witness the rice terraces and bring back the memories in sagada

on the road to batad village

important note (ifugao):
Ifugao is a landlocked province of the Philippines in the Cordillera Administrative Region in Luzon.  Its capital is Lagawe and named after the term "i-pugo" which means "i" (from/people) and "pugo" (hill), thus people of the hill.

the most weekend consecutive get-away madness will end-up on this breathtaking part of northern luzon. started from the 4 weekends of may in aurora province, iloilo-guimaras, camnorte-legazpi, bacolod up to the  1st 3 weekends of june in corregidor island, mt. pulag the return and this one. though this serves also my expensive month ever, priceless experience was the reward and i'm happy about it.

the planning:
this trip was acknowledge only when we were in iloilo trip and found-out that june 20 was declared as special legal holiday due to 150th birtday of our national hero dr. jose p. rizal. since his birthday will mark on sunday, june 19, the government transferred it to monday so that school can also participate for the public celebration that will occur. and as we all know that the month of june is the start of rainy day madness in philippines, regardless if the weather is raining or sunshining, the heat is on for our plan.

one of my travelmate/organizer booked for 5 of us in florida bus terminal day before the sked but unfortunately all tickets have been sold-out. she asked for alternative bus lines that bound also to banaue and they suggested for hayami bus lines which is located in fajardo street corner lacson avenue in sampaloc, manila. this terminal is 3 blocks away from the florida bus. so there it goes, from php470 at 2300H departure in florida bus down to php400 at 2230H ETD in hayami bus with almost the same seat convenience.

yes, you can bring as it as long as it is a 4x4 to withstand rough roads

does it really have to be a 4x4 or any vehicle with high ground clearance is enough?

  5. @a.k.a. thobs 4x4 is advisable just for your safety. if your vehicle have proven its endurance to you on a very rough road with high probability of landslide then you can use it ^_^
